Why me?
I completed by SEF (10 hours) sorted all files out and left on the side for ease.
She was here at 9.30 when I got back from school (rang me at 9.15 to see where I was) which I expected.
Very thorough, went through all paperwork (said if I had spent the time to do all the paperwork then she should have the curtesy and time to read it!) and then 30 minutes to sum up. I had to ask her to leave at 3pm as I had to be at school then!
Outstanding in Safeguarding Children and Partnerships with Parents and was told borderline on outstanding for the balance. Overall GOOD which although I expected was slightly dissappointed with.
Loads of positives and cannot wait for the report.

Well done - pity if they won't give you an outstanding overall that you can't have a very good or good *
When my inspector on Monday said I had good in all areas and I said didn't I even get one outstanding - she just sniffed at me - I didn't dare ask again incase she down graded me.

Well done Debbie. :clapping: :clapping: Hope you treated youself this evening.
I had mine last Jan it was 6hrs. The same inspector went to a friend on Monday and stayed six and a half hours! , nit picked compimented and said she was boarder line good/outstanding and gave her all goods. She had all her paperwork out as well.
I really think they should make the inspectors do 2 inspections a day. That way they might get up to date. 2 here have been waiting since Aug. They wouldn't be able to stay longer than 3 hrs. Do you think they consider the effect this has on us and the los?

As much as it was a long time she was very thorough and didn't bother me at all. Looked at all my paperwork which I think was a compliment to me seeing how much time had gone into them - I would have been more annoyed if she hadn't.
She came on the nursery run with me and that took half an hour.
As to your friends, I was due 1st September last year so theirs should be soon. If they only have three hours the inspector will wait in the car for them to come back. We have to make time for however long the inspector needs.

Thank you to everyone who posted.
Last night I went on a business training course so I knew what my GEMS were being told (newly registered childminders) and it was nice to sit back and know that I was doing everything they were talking about - no more brain ache! so no wine.
Feeling both shattered and relieved that it is done this morning but still slightly dissappointed in the result. I think the mental exhaustion has just surfaced and roll on Saturday when I can sleep in!

So much for the rumour that a well completed SEF will mean a shorter inspection
I really think 5.5 hours is excessive.
Sorry if you're disappointed with the result but wait and see what your report says - that's what parents read.
Hope you can find the time to relax and celebrate tonight

Wow - you should have done what I did - let the kiddies go wild playing with noodles - they sent them flying all over the kitchen and all over her papers - she left pretty sharpishly.
I was also cooking dinner - chicknen and tomatoes in pasta - I don't know if it was the smell of the food cooking that got to her or the mess or a mixture of both but she sort of ran out of my house.
