Hi everyone,
Just wondered if anyone could help.

I had a strange phone call today, it was Ofsted asking what care I give,if I give overnight, weekend care afterschool.

I was so surprised that he called that I answered questions and didnt ask why.

I am new to childminding and have had an inspection already in Jan which was graded good.

I phoned Ofsted and they said they have no record of this.

I'm stressing now wondering what it is all about. I didnt give him any personal information though, I would never do that.

Has anyone else had a similar experience?

Sometimes when you are newly registered they do call to update your records. At the moment they do seem to be making lots of calls updating their records. I would'nt worry too much.

I hope that's all it is. I have been wondering if they intend to come again for the 10% random check. The Ofsted inspector did warn they might.

Oh well will try not to think about it.

Thank you for your reply and advice.:)

There was a similar thread a few days ago and a few responses from members who had had similar calls this was reassuring to know because I support a childminder who had also had a call like this and I was able to get in touch with her and tell her that others had been contacted.

Don't worry I really believe it was a genuine routine call with nothing to worry about.

I had that phonecall a couple of days ago.

I was told it was just to update records. I did find it a bit odd as I only had my inspection a couple of months ago and I thought the inspector would have had all that info. They did ask if I do overnight care - surely they should know I don't as I'm not registered for it!

I didn't tell them which days I work, just that I work 3 days a week and that it varies as it's shiftwork, so I guess they won't spring a surprise inspection on me as they don't actually know when I work...I hope!
