Won't bore you all with the details but I was due my inspection last week - Monday, Wednesday or Thursday but no show inspector!!
After many calls to OFSTED I discovered that inspector on sick leave but no-one bothered to tell me!
Tried to fob me off with "the inspector will contact you when better" but when I discovered she is on long term sick I decided to kick some butt!
Eventually I spoke to the team manager who agreed it was all poor service and within an hour another inspector called me to arrange my inspection for Monday!
So fingers crossed this one turns up as planned!!
Will let you all know how I get on!!

That happened to me several years ago - the inspector was long term sick and due to retire at the end of the following month so wasn't expected back anyway
It's so annoying when you've got yourself all ready for the inspection and sat in waiting for them to show.
Good luck on Monday

What a nightmare for you and I totally know where you are coming from. Last year for my Inspection I had a three month slot where the inspector could turn up at anytime! I was on pins for months. Everytime the doorbell went I panicked. Needless to say the three months passed and she never arrived. I emailed her and she said sorry but she had been busy and wasn't really worried about me:rolleyes: She turned up a week later.
I hope it goes really well for you xxxxxx
The same happened to my friend she was due to have hers last month. She was given 3 days to make sure she was in and the inspector did'nt show. She phoned Ofsted who said inspector is off sick and will ring her when she returns to work. Turns out inspector was'nt off sick because she did 2 other minders inspections that week and still has'nt phoned my friend. Looks like she was forgotten!! Do they always cover up for unreliable inspectors??

Oh poor your how awful. Not only did you have to wait in for three days but all the nerves that go with it to. It happened to a friend of mine too, the only benefit that she got was that the inspector told her an exact time and day so she could be well prepared.

Sounds like a total nightmare. I know sickness cannot be avoided but to be uninformed (is that a word??) is annoying to say the least :(
