Do any of you outstanding childminders have a daily routine in place?

I'm not outstanding but I do have a daily routine on display for parents and children to see.

basically its a timetable of what happens when that includes meal times, snack times, school run times rest times and play times.

it did include nappy changing etc but as i have no little ones I changed it to suit.

at the bottom I have a statement saying this is a basic daily routine please see the monthly plan for details on activities.

I have a document showing my routine - i used a template i got from Sarah707 ebooks. Its basically a table showing time blocks on the left and days across the top and shows the times i do school runs etc and an idea of when quiet times are, naps, organised activities, toddler groups etc.

I find it invaluable to have a routine so the children get a sense of security in what's coming next.

We don't always follow it and it is flexible to their needs on the day, but it's always there to fall back on :D

Yes, very loosely it says what we do, when - like school runs, snack and meal times etc

I'd say it was intended only as a rough guide.

Ditto! The kids love letting me know what's happening next too (ages 2 and 3) :)

I have a written routine of general daily routine (school runs,toddler groups etc attended day by day).

I show this to new parents but explain apart from the definate commitments eg school/playgroup runs etc the routine is flexible according to childs needs/weather etc.

Yes, I have a written routine but I advise all those who see it that it is very flexible depending on the weather, events coming up, a childs preferences etc.

Obviously some things are set in stone like lunch times and being here at hometime etc. Lunchtime is usually the same time most days as is nap times so we work around them but they can be flexible but not as much.

Yes i give it to parents as part of their welcome pack so they have an idea of what their child will be doing with me, but i do say its flexible to fit in with things that might come up :)
