Hi, I've got myself onto a course this week to find out how to fill in the SEF form and they want us to bring in a blank one. I've noticed there is one on the other thread (thank you).
But i'm just wondering now if its worth me going on the course as i can't answer most of the questions as i'm not even minding yet!
Do you think its best to cancel and wait until i've got someone?
Ofsted were even ringing me this morning asking if i was minding yet.
I was only registered on 15th Jan...give me some time.

I started filling in my SEF when I wasn't minding but did get stuck too as really I needed to be minding to complete it.

I think the course might help you understand it and then you can make notes and actually finish it when you are minding.

I would take whatever training you can get.

it's a tough form to complete and you might find yourself minding and no courses and Ofsted on their way.

Thanks, i'll go ahead with it, but i've still not got the SEF paper forms. Can it still be printed off from the Ofsted website? And how many pages/questions are there? I'm going to have to print it off from the library.
I've got a SEF for nursery schools (i'm supposed to do the SEF for the pre-school as well) :panic: .
Could i use that one?

Hi, do we have to phone ofsted to get a username and password to get on the website to do the form? Is it an online form or a print and give to inspector for?

Thanks
Nicole

If you do not have the log in details already you can ring Ofsted and get them posted out.

You can either fill it in paper and send it to Ofsted or you can do it on your computer.

You need to update it every so often so a computer version would be easier :D

I'm currently in the library printing off my blank SEF, a colour copy would cost me £22.50!! So i'm going for the black and white version £3 :)
I can't print anything off the internet at home and have to come to the library.
Thank goodness for free internet access!

I did my SEF in written form, glad it's done! :)

Do I need to send this into Ofsted now or do I just file it for when they next inspect in a couple of years?
