I have my inspection tomorrow and the little one i have here is currently potty training. Just wondered if there is anything i should make sure i do or dont do when the inspector is here.

A couple of questions i thought of are;
where to empty the potty as if i go to the toilet to empty it child will be on her own, is this acceptable??

do you normally have tissues/wipes for the child when the have done a wee? as curently her mum said not to bother and just pulled up her pants when she had done one

do you clean the potty round with a wipe each time

anyone think of anything else???:o

I think I would ensure teh childs privacy - go to another room/hallway - just tell the inspector, excuse me for a moment.
You and child go to the bathroom to empty and wash hands.

good luck

I do the same ... don't forget if you are feeling stressed that the child must wash her hands every time...

Empty potty down the toilet, sterilise after every use.

Good luck!

I leave the potty in the hall as that is where the child is used to using it. Next to the potty I have a toilet roll and a packet of baby wipes.

During my inspection the child used the potty (the inspector waited in the living room). I promted her to use a bit of toilet roll & throw it in the potty, then I supervised her wiping her hands and putting the wipe in the potty. She went back into the living room to play while I went upstairs to empty the potty, wipe it with disinfectant wipes & wash my hands.
The inspector was more than happy.

I don't know if they still do it, but in Home Bargains I bought a childsized toilet roll on a little dispenser and that's what sits by the potty. The inspector loved that!

I too leave potty up the hall and use wipes for them to wipe their hands, then its quicker for me to empty potty so not leaving the other little ones on their own for too long.
Good Luck with your inspection.
