Hi, i am looking for a childminder in the barry area. You do not have to be registered but references would be needed. I have 2 children aged 2.5 years and 15 months. I would be looking for 2 days a week. Please contact me if you can help
Thanks

I couldn't help myself - I sent her the follwing reply.
I personally would not put my children at risk in this way and would prefer to knowI my childcarer was registered, insured and following the correct legal requirement (EYFS)
Hope it makes her think!

OMG can't believe what I've just read. What happened to wanting the best for your child. As being new to this job i'm I think I'm niave still loads to learn, but one thing I can't believe is how irresponsible and stupid some people are. :)

I can understand some people may want to opt out but I do think much of it is down to how much stuff has been in the press about the baby curriculum as it was dubbed and how providers inform parents about it.
As for the posters reference that childminders should be just that and leaving the teaching to the nurseries..... well that was the bit that got me:rolleyes:

I can't believe some parents are so silly:eek:
I agree with sending a message but she may have a problem finding an EYFS registered childminder as Wales don't do EYFS.

I have posted a reply to the person asking for care AND i have emailed the supposed moderator of the site. Will let you know if i get a reply. Its completely unacceptable
it looks like it's been taken down. there is another in the area but for different ages.

 i have also read many of these adds on netmums. my big gripe is that unregistered people are advertising their childcare services. so me and my size 12's emailed netmums and asked what the hell they were playing at allowing unregistered people to tout their services. i explained all the legal requirements etc and what hoops we childminders have to jump through to become registerd but they did not even bother to respond.
