Just thought i would mention things the inspector liked when she came today:
1. I have two polish children and we have done some simple words which we have translated in to polish and laminated to go on notice board (i.e door in to garage - posh notice board eh?)
2. Very hot on inclusive activities - we did painting fruit pictures which turned in to finger painting with youngest one
3. Communication with local school nurseries - not just about the kids but about me being a cm and she also liked that i nicked ideas from the nursery.
4. Forward thinking - i have a back garden which is waterlogged most of year and i am planning to have it hard scaped so that we can use it more - talked to inspector about it and she mentioned at the end of inspection that she was impressed that i was constantly thinking about what could be improved.
5. I have my diaries blue tacked on to wall and colour coded for childrens ages so i can see at a glance if my numbers are ok if anyone wants to change days around etc.
6. NCMA stickers which show the different early learning goals - i use them in the daily diaries to show which areas are being covered.
7. She went through my accident book in detail - so make sure evryhting is signed properly
8. I have an activity diary i keep photos etc of activities i have done especially with older children who don't have a daily diary.
9. Parental Responisbility sheets - need to have details of legal contact as well as parental responsibility. She said a lot of cms don't even have a form anyway but lots don't include the legal contact side of things - means when grandparents for example have legal contact in cases of dispute etc.
Hope some of this helps - thought i should give back some info given i have picked other peoples brains, and picked up so much from various threads.
