there are some really good books out there that i like and the kids love, all by eric carle, the hungry catapiller, brown bear brown bear,( good for colours too) what do you see, and mister seahorse. then i just follow on with wherever it leads with puppets and thing, oh and another is monkey puzzel by julia donaldson and axel scheffler. i like books because its easy to start with and then build and extend from thew book if they like it.

Hi
Why not incorportate the chinese animal years each child may be different and make masks, I'm sure there must be a web site with maks on that could be downloaded and printed out or maybe draw them!!

I was thinking along the lines of Chinese New Year animals as well - there are 12 so plenty of scope!

:D
What about an activity based on 'Going on a bear hunt', its a great excuse - not that i need one - to go out and get muddy with the kids!
