Hi all :) I currently look after a little boy on a Monday and Wednesday who is one at the end of February and a little girl on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday who is one at the end of March.
I had a couple come around to see me with regard to looking after their 3 month old son last week and today she has phoned me to say she would like me to look after him (great news!).
She is coming around to do the paperwork at the end of the week as it is to start at the beginning of March. For some reason my mind went blank when I agreed to start then as it means I will have two under 1. I have worked out on the calendar that this will be for 11 days between 8am and 5pm. What should I do - I know I have to contact Ofsted but cannot change the start date and they are such a lovely family and I really want to look after their child. I do not look after any other children at present (well apart from my own). Many thanks in anticipation of your responses.

I would def write in for a variation, like you said it is only for 11 days. YOU CAN ONLY TRY.

I'd apply for the variation straight away - you may not get it though as it is not for continuity of care or for a sibling, but nothing ventured.................

I also think you should be straight with the parents - it may be they can cover those 11 days so that you don't need a variation which would be the easiest way of doing things and might be necessary if Ofsted refuse.

Good luck

Miffy xx
