Sitting here half an hour ago reading this site and doing some eyfs stuff and my phone goes off. Well I answer it and who do I get but OFSTED!!!!! I ring on Sundays she says cos I get most people to answer then!!! Well my inspection was due in Jan but I was hoping it would be a little later to get more stuff done. Not coming next week as I dont have mindees as parents are teachers. Just off to have a drink to get over the shock of Sunday phone call. Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated. Am sure you'll be fine. Hope you've got over the shock. At least you have a week to get ready. just enough to get prepared but not too long to get into a complete state I hope ;)

I would have taken their name, asked them how many of their preschools and nurserys they had spoken to today and when they explained that they were closed I would have politely informed her that I was also closed on a Saturday and Sunday and would she please call tomorrow.

First thing tomorrow I would have been on the phone making a formal complaint.

What a cheek!! Why is she working on a Sunday?

My inspection was due back in October - I heard from other people who had had THE PHONE CALL from Ofsted, that they had rung on the Friday to let them know they would be calling one day the following week - I got so scared that I stopped answering the phone on Fridays and did 1471 and rang numbers back that I knew - then I was told that they ring on any day and now answer the phone whatever day - but a Sunday must have been a complete shock - hope it all goes well.
