I have been spending some considerable time planning topics etc for my mindees, when I mentioned this to pre school, they said that you do not need to have anything written down, or even topics planned as eyfs was going away from this!
So do I throw out my planning and just be flexible/

There is a great deal of confusion at the moment and has been for a while over whether to go with themes, topics, following children's interests etc etc... and different people aer spouting different things...
Personally, I do not see how a child who is interested in playing with cars all day long will ever develop any other interests until shown them... and that's where topics / themes come in...
Plus parents want to know what their children are doing and we must follow parents wishes...
Don't throw anything away yet! It's a watching and waiting game :D

I wouldn't throw out your planning if I were you and if you don't write anything down how will you prove to Ofsted what you are doing to meet the EYFS framework and mandatory requirements?
I think it will be a while before it's all clear, if it ever is ;)
