Hi.......I am new to his forum but would really love some answers to these questions
1 has anyone paid a fee to be on the voluntary/compulsory register??
2 did Ofsted send u a bill???
3 if so how did u pay??
4 did u get information well in advance of payment??

This has happened to me......6 months ago I recieved information saying that there are now 2 registers over 8's and under 8's......anyway not heard anything form Ofsted so assumed I would here from them when bill due!!
In the meantime I e mail Ofsted regarding register payment and get a brief e mail saying u will hear from us..................another childminder RINGS Ofsted regarding this and was told the same u will here from us as and when!!!!
WELL TODAY.......I was awoken by the postman AT 8:26: angry AND low and behold its a letter from Ofsted saying they are intending to cancel my registration:eek: because u have not PAID the fee for continued registration....So wat now:( I have 14 days to appeal

i have paid my normal registration fee and I am on all three registers.

Compose a letter back to them explaining the mix up and that you are not happy with their customer service, tbh that is all you can do really and of course pay your bill. Normal Ofsted compentency and efficiency applies here I think:rolleyes:

your Ofsted registration is due annually and I do mark mine in my diary and on the calendar and you should get a reminder but I suppose errors can and do occur.

hope you get it sorted soon

I always get a reminder - a good month or so before it is due. Seems like there has been a cock-up at their end - what's new?!
If I was you I would give them a ring on Monday. Bet there has been an 'administrative error'!!
Hope all goes well.

Pay it quick - when I did my ICP course there was a lady who had been childminding for about 10 years, who had forgotten to pay her registration fee - she was unregistered by Ofsted and because she had done the old ICP (Cert in Childminding Practice) in order to register again had to do the new ICP (Diploma homebased Childcare) - she didn't mind too much though as she qualified for a start up grant!

I would send payment asap compain about the way they have treated you and as it is over £10 demand a reciept for tax purposes!

I get really mad  with them.
In the last 4 years they have only sent the final demand on 2 of them.

This happened last year and they were so rude when I explained that the original invoice had not arrived. :(
They were even more cross when i demanded the reciept. :panic: They said they did not send them and I did not need one so I invited them to speak to my tax office an explain themselevs to the inland revenue!!!!!!

I also pointed out that as there intention was to increase the fees substantually that they my need to review their reciept policiy urgently!!!!!!!
