Does anyone know what we're supposed to look at on the new reports for our overall grade? Very confused with the grades i've been given.

i think everyone is confused as they seem to be grading each section, but i cant see the overall grade written on the back pages anywhere (when i have looked at ones on line). is there any leaflets or booklets explaining it with your report??:o

From what i understand you get the grade which is most prominent so if there are three goods and two outstanding you get a good etc.

I've just had my report back and it doesn't state an overall grade. Although mine isn't too hard to understand, cus i got good in all areas.
The new style reports you get graded in 14 areas. So if you have different in each area, I'm assuming that the grade you get is where you have most ie 8 outstanding 6 good, you get outstanding. I'm not 100% sure though I could be wrong:huh:
Sorry if I'm not much help

Thanks all but it doesn't seem to work logically. Of the 14 I got 11 outstanding judgements and 3 good but the inspector still said that was a good overall, yet i got outstanding for the Overall effectiveness at the top of the page which is what my local surestart team have been told is what they should for the overall grade?! I'm very confused and a little miffed.

did the inspector not tell you what your overall grading was in your feedback session at the end. i think whatever you get the most in is the grade you get though could be difficult to work out if you get an even mix.

My understanding is that even if you get outstanding in all areas except one for example, your overall grade is marked down the the lower level.
To get a good, you need good in all areas, same for outstanding etc.

Hi
My inspectors told me my outcome when they had finished. I have the majority satisfactory and two goods. My overall was satisfactory.
Hope this helps

my inspector said they don't give and overall grade any more the important ones are the ones in bold if all them are the same that is the grade you get i got 12 outstanding and 2 goods and my development officer said i got outstanding overall
I agree it is a bit confusing. The inspector told me my grade in the summing up. Last week when I got the paperwork through there is only one page which breaks down the inspection areas. On each one you are awarded a score of between 1-4. 1 being outstanding, 2 Good, 3 satisfactory, 4 unsatisfactory. The majority score is the outcome. I was quite surprised that there is no written grade anywhere on the new certificate or report. This is very confusing for parents and minders as it is not evident.

I have been told by my CDO and trainers that the overall effectiveness, the first grade, is your overall grade.
You don't have to get outstanding in all areas (like old system) to get an overall outstanding.

I was told yesterday by a member of the networrk that unless you get 14 outstanding your overall grade is a 'Good'. One childminder had 10 outstanding and 4 goods so her overall grade was good.
