My husband and I were talking about this the other day when I was renewing house/car insurances. Is there such a thing as a childminders insurance for if we can't work due to ill health or anything similar?

I'm sure there must be, other self employed people can get sickness insurance.

i don't know about that but you can claim incapasity benifit if you are ill for more than 3 days

Yes there is, although I can't remember what its called at the mo, im sure it will come to me though. Covers if you can't work for a variety of reasons.

You can get cover but it is very very expensive. Try a brokers.
We also get cover if we pay NI.

I have just re-mortgaged wow yes very happy as X-hubby now will be off the deeds verry soon ,,,well to answer question YES,,,
ITS part of my mortgage protection insurance
i have sickness cover from the end of first 30 days for up to a year and then i can get unemployent as i wont have any children i will be unemployed till i have children on my books and that lasts for a year
after 2yrs and still not working im ********!! as i couldnt afford any more insurances,,,,
