i have just had an enquiry from a mum looking for a place for her 18 month old. i already look after two girls full time they are 21 months and 4 years and my own daughter who is 2. the mum is looking for care on a thurs and friday. my mum has my daughter on a friday but would still be here when the child arrived on the fri morning. do you think ofsted are likely to give a variation and how do i go about doing that?

should do - depends how long you've been minding, how you explain how you will cope etc - does the 4 yr old attend pre-school/nursery?? i did a chart outlinging all the kids on roll, the days and hours they attend and the new one at the bottom with their proposed hrs etc. it's only 2 days so dont see it being a prob.:)

I applied for a variation and got denied straight away. i had letters from the parents and everything. The inspector called friday afternoon and she was def in a bad mood. But you are better off trying than not trying at all.
