Nooooo , don't even go there - Ofsted really don't like the ticky list things. you need to show that you are matching the specific areas of learning and stepping stones within the childs learning journal though - so its ok to pick out sections to show what is related to what.

I use them, mainly its an easy quick guide for parents I also do all the usual stuff, but parents like to see where they can go next and it gives me ideas where to go next.

OFSTED were quite happy with that last feb, I think it's how you use them thats important!

I use a set published by QEd
" Trackers 0-5" they cover all the areas of learning .

they can be usefull

each to there own, thats what I say.

I make my own tailored the individual child's age and stage or development, using the EYFS CD rom xx

I agree with Daisychain that it a good visual for the parents but a friend (outstanding graded) was told by her inspector that they really don't like the tick lists as it doesn't show that the provider is thinking and providing for/ about the inbetween bits that lead up to these stepping stones. They are also a good visual for us but I would recommend (as the inspector told my friend ) that you show other information with the relevant milestone reached. Perhaps I am explaining myself badly - sorry its been a long day

Tilly is right - all the information is there in the EYFS as well so we don't need to buy the Trackers booklets either

You can use them for guidance if you want to give you ideas

But apart from that Ofsted do not like them
