I submitted my SEF form this week, the inspector printed it off, but now i cant access it, it will only let me print it.
I was under the impresion that i would be able to go back to my submitted form and change or add to it.
Please dont tell me i have to type it all again if I need to add to it.

you don't need to re type it - i thought that and nearly bhad a heart attack.. Do in to submitted SEFS and it will allow you to edit it and then submit an updated one. Good Luck

I have had inspection this week, gone into the saved/submitted and it is only allowing me to print it off it will not let me access it.
I am now wondering because i have only just had inspection if it is locked.

I would have thought that it will remain locked until you have received your inspection report. Just so you cannot alter the SEF then claim it was like that all along. Or some reason along those lines.:)

I hope so, or i will cry if i have to re-type it, as it is I paid my son to type it up, it will cost me a fortune if I have to do it again.lol

it happened to me. I submitted last october cause i wanted to have this done just in case and now i want to re do it(bought one of sarah's ebooks few months ago) and it will only let me to print off but not edit
I phoned them and ofsted said you have to start again,it will not let you go into it and amend it.
So i opened my word and my submited sef and copied and pasted it onto my word . I will re do this on my word and then i will copy and paste onto new sef.
I did print mine off as well just in case:)
I had my last inspection in 02/2007 so i would not think this is the reason i can not edit my sef.
You would think they would design the sef that we could co into it and edit it as we go along. But i guess it is too logical.;)
Maybe if Ofsted had to do this for themselves they would design it better.

so it is not a case of just unlocking it then:eek:

And the year is 2009 and we dont have the technology to re give us access to our SEF:panic:

I submitted my SEF back in the autumn and have managed to get back in on a few occasions to admend it without any problem.
I can't believe that OFSTED would not allow us to admend submitted SEFs. No way am I re-writing!! What a nightmare thought!

To be on the safe side I do have a copy of my SEF on my computer.
Confidence in OFSTED - nil!!!

Yes beerheaven but has it been locked because you are due to be inspected.

What they are saying is that once you have been picked to be inspected the SEF get locked and you cannot alter it. I thought that it would then get unlocked and you could carry on improving it online. But it now comes to light that you have to start all over again and complete a new one. What a waste of our time:panic:

I agree with you - what a complete waste of time!!
