Just had a visit from my network co-ordinator. We have a childminder in my area that was just given outstanding and my network co-ordinator said that one thing that helped her was by having a visitors book.

IM GETTING A BOOK AT THE WEEKEND!

It's probably because it's now mentioned in the EYFS (Premises and Security statutory guidance)

"Providers should consider where relevant............the use of a system to verify the identity of any visitors, record their names, the purpose of the visit, and details of arrival and departure times"

Yes, I got my Ofsted inspector to sign in and out . Well impressed.:)

my co ordinator said she didnt sign many as not asked a lot.

Ive got one and my ofsted inspector was impressed with mine when she recently visited, I also got her to sign it, Ive also put a comments part in mine so visitors can also comment on my setting, ofsted inspector really like that part.:)

I have one too! Mine is just an old exercise book and I drew in columns. Nothing fancy, but does the trick! :)
