Once you send off your registration forms how long is it until they might visit? I only ask because we are getting the forms on Saturday and they want us to send them off but I'm still waiting for my DH to get the kitchen finished. Do you think I need to wait?

Hi Liz, :)

I've noticed there does seem to be a quick turnaround at the mo. I'm hoping to send my papers off the end of this week. DH informs me this afternoon he's going biking to Cannock Chase next Sunday, needless to say I politely reminded him of all the little jobs that need doing prior to inspection.

You only need to show that your house is safe for minding, You don't have to have everything in place but you need to show them that you have thought of the possible dangers e.g stairgates, plug covers.etc.

As long as you know what you have to do and show them that you know, I think thats all they need.

Good luck.

Hi jibberjitz, they are turning the applications round pretty quickly at the mo and I'm in Silsden, W Yorks. I posted mine on 31st December and Ofsted came on 8th January!!!!! So very quick indeed, couldn't quite believe the promptness but according to Ofsted Inspector, they have deadlines and targets to meet.

I would hold off if you're not ready

Hope you can get all your jobs done - I find it hard trying to motivate my DH to do jobs that he really doesn't like doing but desperately need doing:angry:

I've finally got him to call the joiner but he's not enthralled about stripping all the stuff off the walls:censored: If all else fails can I borrow a big piece of paper and hope the inspector doesn't see it!!!

Nope not far at all.

Just make sure you fill in your SEF you got with your application pack as you can refer to it in your inspection. Was a life saver for me.
