ok have inspection nect week... the plan is she comes in and upstairs, the kitchen door will be left shut until little one has her snack so lounge door open (will be typical little one finds it funny to keep dissapearing!..I have planned some cutting and sticking then get the train set out as she loves the cars and trains etc..prob have snack and then do some decorating of biscuits..now would you attempt to make them while she is there or make them the night before as i have visions of me forgetting and the smoke alrms going off lol..least she will know they work hey!
Then what..i feel it is going to drag and dreading it already! our days are as above and normal and fine but i don't want to be looking for things to do as i am panicking! So any good suggestions would be life saving please!
Oh and when she arrives do you make the drink if she wants one or does she..thanks!

would probably be tempted to make biscuits night b4 tbh, but if you can do them on the day it may look better could u carry an egg timer so u get a reminder?
As for the drink, I ask if they want anything, cold or hot if it hot I make a point of saying in that case you will need to go in kitchen to use table as lo's could knock it:) I know a few c/m's who had an inspector who would put her tea on floor for a brief second if c/m didnt comment she put it in her report,
but remember it is never as bad as you prepare yourself for I would go about as normal I usually do, my last inspection I had the inspector at kitchen table for over an hr as I had things to do with lo's
oh and sending you loads of luck although I'm sure you will b fine

I didn't offer my inspector a drink - she was there to do a job and I wanted her to get on with it and go
I just went with the flow of what my mindees wanted to do while she was there - I gave her all my paperwork and carried on.
You have some lovely things planned (I would also make the biscuits the night before) and I'm sure you'll be just fine
Good luck and let us know how you get on

I offered her one at snack time but she refused, i poured myself some water as i could feel my throat was so dry :)
I would probably make them the night before, i never got much done on mine as i was so busy answering her questions so the lo's enjoyed just playing :)

good luck - you'll be fine - have all paperwork out on the table or sofa (out of reach) - then do what you do - have to say, do biscuits with them - do in the lounge , then put them in the kitchen and explain you'll cook them later when child asleep or gone and they'll see the results later/tmrw:) - i made a cake wi 3 toddlers when i had my quality first assessment visit - roaring success! (altho she kept telling me to let them lick the bowl of cake mix - said i couldnt because of raw egg - but she still kept saying it??!!)

I agree about making biccies the night before. It's good to have activities planned to keep little un busy but I would keep it simple.
I agree with remark about paperwork. Get everything you can possibly think of out onto a table and guide the inspector to the pile - should keep him/her quiet for a while!
Best of luck!! :)

I would make biscuits the night before - less to worry about:) Give her all the paperwork and get on and forget she's there (if you can!) No expert as I'm new to all this but thats what I'd do:thumbsup:
Good luck and let us know:)
