For the birds not the kids haha
What you need
A handful of nuts
Several slices of bread or just crusts
A selection of wild bird seed
500g of lard
Empty yogurt pots or small container
String
What to do
Melt the fat and allow to cool
Break up the bread into small pieces and mix with nuts and seed
Stir into the cool fat
Place small amounts into your containers
Place a piece of string into the mixture leaving some hanging out
Leave to set
Turn them out of the container and tie the string round a tree branch
Have fun

On a kids tv prog recently they spread peanut butter on a pine cone and rolled it in bird seed. Easy as long as no one is allergic :)

Nice idea.
I was going to use cheerios and thread them onto a pipe cleaner which will be easy to shape and hang from a branch. :D

Thanks Angel, my dd made one of these once at playschool and it was horrid! haa. All gunky and greasy but it made her happy and that was all that mattered.
I did wonder how it was made, so thanks. x
