well i'm just had my inspection, and tbh i'm a bit gutted. she gave me mainly satisfactory, with 2 goods. i know i should be pleased for a first inspection, but i feel its all based on paperwork, not the work that i do. the only question she asked me was what i thought 'inclusion' meant. she said i needed to do more risk assessments - even though i told her that my home is safe and i didn't highlight things that didn't need doing, i'm supposed to write to say i've thought about it.
and i need to link more to early learning goals in my obs.

ah well.

Well done, I can understand why you're not too happy. I honestly think it depends on who you get as an inspector, mine gave me good in all areas and said I need to make sure I have toys suitable for a 3 year old and do planning. Have a nice glass of something. :clapping:

First wanted to say well done:clapping:

Dont be disappointed and I know its a strange feeling when they've left, it feels such an anti climax, when you've been so stressed waiting for them. I bet when you get your report back it will sound really good and positive.

Well done again and have a glass or two tonight to relax, thats just what I did on Fri:D

Please don't be so down.

For a first inspection that's really good, there are loads of threads on here about risk assessments and the things she's commented on are quite small things really.

You are obviously looking after the children brilliantly and keeping them safe and helping them to progress which are the main things, she's just picked up on paperwork that's all.

Please don't be down, I can understand how you feel but remember as well that all inspectors are different for some stupid reason so it's a bit of luck with the one you get as well.

If you need any help with anything we're all here.

:clapping: Well Done:clapping: it will read realy well when you get the report, i agree with nell if feels wierd after they leave and a bit de-flated,

wait till the report arrives, give yourself a little time then do a reflection on your practice and how you intend to improve,,, that will show good working practice for next time hun ok

we can but work with the reports to improve and show how and where we have put changes into practice and then reflect again,

Hold your head up high hun for your first inspection to get Good's is showing how hard you realy have worked.. and have that drink tonight and some choc's mmmm:D

You're right about depends on who you get Sue. Reading some members accounts on how their inspection went recently could be describing mine and how others went on the day too, some getting satisfactory, some good and some outstanding (rightly deserved), so wheres the consistency:rolleyes:

In my opinion we're all fantastic any way:D

Firstly I would like to say a big well done - when it's your first inspection you don't really know what to expect and we (I know I was) can be really nervous too - so you did great.

It is a shame that we have to produce so much paperwork to be able to proove what we are doing - some people like paperwork more than others and having it in place really doesn't reflect on how you actually look after the children.

Don't be hard on yourself, like it has already been said there is plenty of useful information on this forum to start you off with your risk assessments etc (just tweak them to suit your home). Take your time and work at it bit by bit and just carry on doing the fantastic job you are obviously doing. I know that everybody here is always ready to help out so if you are not sure just ask.

I think you've done really well. It is harder now to get a good than ever and you managed to get 2 goods - I think you should be proud of yourself!!

I just wanted to say that I'm new to this and haven't had my first inspection yet but I would be happy with 'satisfactory':)
