Just thought I would let you know that I had my inspection yesterday and all went very well. Children behaved beautifully - two 18 month olds and they do tend to fight at the moment.

Basically I put everything she would need and more next to her and let her get on with it. She asked when she wanted something in particular and I was able to show her but I don't think she looked through everything.

She had all the children's development files to look at but decided to only look at one. Therefore I made a point of showing her the communication sheet I have had back from pre-school for one of my children. She was really impressed with it but would have missed it if I didn't notice.

She had a very quick look around and didn't even bother with the garden (but she did sit in conservatory). She looked at my risk assessments and commented on my self assessment having examples in which she found really useful.

She said she couldn't fault what I was doing and was happy to give me an overall outstanding which was great news. She particularly liked the development files and thought I had some good observations and next steps. I think lots of photos and artwork examples also helped. Also she likd to see the evidence of communication between parents & myself - i.e. questionnaires etc.

She took a recommendation that I had decided upon myself which was to continue to develop the garden to cover all areas of learning under eyfs.

She asked about child protection and also what I changed about my practice from courses that I had recently attended and what I was interested in doing in the future.

Hope this helps anybody about to undergo their inspection.

She wasn't particularly chatty and is renouwn for being very particular (checking some peoples fridges etc) but it wasn't as bad as I was expecting.

Just releived it's all over. Would like to thank Sarah and everybody for their valued knowledge, advice and support - you have all inspired me to really go for it and I couldn't have got this grade without you. THANK YOU
