Hello,
I haven't posted before but I have read lots in the last 2 weeks! My registration came through at the end of October and I just had my inspection today and got 'Good' in all areas. :D
Feel a little let down by the system as the (scary) inspector said I was reaching towards outstanding in some areas but I hadn't been working long enough to have the necessary evidence base/ experience... so kind of feel that to inspect so soon after registration is a little unfair! (I only work 12 hours a week and have a single mindee at a time).
Wanted to express huge gratitude to posters on here as the spidergram plan for my theme went down really well...and I discovered it here.
guess the anti-climax feeling is pretty normal. Mixed with big pride as having achieved this all by myself!!!

:clapping: :clapping: You should feel very proud of yourself. Getting a 'good' means that you are offering (and proving that you are offering) more than basic care and learning to the children in your setting. You are exceeding the requirements of the EYFS. By the time you get your next inspection you will have built up the knowledge, experience and proff required for an 'outstanding'. Please don't be downhearted!
They inspect so soon after registering because until you are actually caring for children all you can show them at pre-reg is your perceptions of what it will be like for children to attend your setting. They need to know that your ideas and 'promises' have been carried over into your practice.

Well done for doing so well in your first inspection!

There are many inspectors who will not give better than good at their first inspections... it's their way I'm afraid and while we might think it's wrong, they persist.

You do have the right to ask for a different inspector because they are not supposed to say these things or you can put in a complaint, but I do feel that you've done incredibly well and should be proud of yourself!

Hope you are enjoying the forum :D

Hi Melanie and welcome to the forum, good that it was of some help to you. Just be glad they won't be back for 3 years! :clapping: I only work 16 hours a week and not looking to do any more than that. Not any more.

Well done you should be really proud :)

I know what you mean as i had the same 3 1/2 years ago and have felt like i really could have done better if i had of been inspected 12 months later not 6

I still think we should get inspected 6 then 12 months later when we first register :)

Hope you have celebrated this weekend :)
