Not as far as I know...
I would have a healthy eating menu displayed and say that is what you would cook if any of the parents wanted you to provide food... but at the moment, you're not being asked to do that. :D

I don't provide meals and got an Outstanding.
I have got a healthy eating policy though that explains to parents that I promote healthy snacks and ask for lunch boxes to be heathly. Also in the policy I state that I'd be willing to give parents ideas for healthy packed lunches.

Really none of their business if you dont do meals.
Just demonstrate healthy snacks and have some activties /posters you can display so you are showing healthy eating.

No, I wouldn't think so.
My inspector never really talked about meals to be honest. I mean, why would they down grade you for something you don't do?
DOn't worry about it. xx

I'm with everyone else - I got outstanding too, and have never provided main meals for children(except on those occasions where parents have forgotten to send child with lunch!)

thank you for all the replies,i do meals at moment for lunch and tea,but i thought you got downgraded due to not providing them, has anyone got a samnple of a letter which tells parents that i have decided to stop providing their child with a meal and only a snack.
as i have no idea what to write, please help
I would tell them verbally as it's easier to explain why you are changing to not cooking. I told mine that I would not increasing my fees this year due to the meals being provided by them. They were all happy with this and glad that I was more interested in the care of the children than being stuck in the kitchen cooking.

I believe that they would like to see an example of you would provide should you provide it. Wether you or don't is either here to there.
