Oh Honey :group hug: what did they say that has made you so disheartened?
Good is fantastic, alot of cm's are not even making satisfactory because of little things they are missing, if you really feel like its a wrong grading then challenge it, a school or nursery would ;)

i'm upset because all my paperwork is up to date and she didnt even look at it. she hardly looked at a a thing actually, hardley asked me any questions, didnt even ask to see my first aid kit. I had it all ready and everything. i carried on as normal, playing with the kids etc and just left her to it, maybe that was wrong i should have stuffed it all in her face. I had a good last time and done lots of work since then i thought i may have gone up a notch

honey did you do a SEF? coz if you did then you did the work for Mrs Ofsted and so got your good!
if its in the SEF they only want to see a few things and the inspection should be a lot shorter too
chin up you did realy well

always worth stuffing things in an inspectors face lol (my friends mindee stuffed a sausage roll in teh inspectors face - wonder if that was prearranged and planned:D )
Well look at it this way Honey - you got a Good based on what she saw - pure and simple. Had you filled in a SEF - perhaps she took what you said on that as done right.
No I think you should be really really proud of yourself.
If you are that upset though about it I would complain -citing what you have said here

Honey you got a GOOD - a good is a brilliant result (even for a can't be bothered inspector). Don't forget that there are so many minders out there only getting Satisfactory (and I know of a several getting inadequates) - that is a brilliant acheivement.
I will admit that I was disappointed too when I got a Good (the wordings are awful aren't they) but upon reflection over the last couple of years I can see how much I have changed and improved as well and I freely admit that I didn't deserve outstanding last time but this time I am chasing it.....

she wasnt picky just said about the obs and planning. i have put down too much and it should be a bit simpler and to focus on the individuality of each child - which i do anyway it just wasnt down on ****** paper.
I mean i have a daily record book, eyfs record book, eyfs planning sheet, all my policies and forms are up to date etc.
Anyway Thankyou for all your support. maybe i could have done it better but was too busy playing with kids. oh well f****k ofsted i know i look after the kids well. Just hope the parents see it as that way.

it would be so much better if ofsted worded things differently
or even said for example setting has x3 outstandings in areas, bla bla bla
and x2 good in areas bla bla bla
over all setting is great super and warm and friendly and wow i loved my visit pmsl
its like getting your school exam results back all that hard work and worry and at the end of a nurve wrecking exam to be told your good!!!
but like we said GOOD is Good and i hope to get GOOD when im inspected.
cheer up and selabrate this weekend you diserve it hun x

Honey you have done really well - a good uner the EYFS is hard ...
Even though I know how you feel - when I had my inspection I thought to myself afterwards that she was gonna give me a GOOD no matter what I did, all the paerwork that she never looked at, all the inclusiveness of my setting (why couldn't I get an outstanding at least in that area - I look after a girl with Down's and a boy who a muslim with lots of needs) so I know sort of what you mean!

Hi Honey
I know just how you feel I was inspected a couple of weeks ago and got good and felt really deflated and still do. Heard of a couple of minders recently who have got outstanding and I really feel I do a better job. Would have been happy to have at least got outstanding in a few areas but didn't. I had an inspector and she was also being inspected so had two of them, they were here for 5 hours. On reflection like you I feel I should have sold myself more. I put all my files out and had filled in sef (very comprehensively) and then carried on as normal playing with children etc. I keep going over things I should have said. Still really cross about it now but havent received my written report so maybe that might make me feel better. I got good last time and have done so much more since I cannot believe got the same grade, I know it is harder now but really does seem to depend on which inspector you get.
Hiya,
I know exaxtly how you, feel. I got a good also but was upset that my inspector wasn't as through as I'd hoped.
You just have draw a line under it all, safe in the knowledge at you won't see ofsted for another 3 or so years!
