Hi, i had my ofsted inspection a week last Tuesday, it lasted 4 and half hours but was worth it because she gave me OUTSTANDING. She said she had phoned her manager to ask if it was ok because she had not given it out since the new EYFS in September. I was so pleased.I have also been told i am the first childminder in Derby under the new framework whos received OUTSTANDING.

I would say fill in the sef form, i did but i gave it to her when she came. Then talk to her about what you do. Risk ass are really important, working with other settings, find out where the childs at in terms of their development from the parents. Find out who has legal contact with the child and who has parental responsibility.
Hope this helps

Hi Tammy
Congratulations once again. Why not elaborate on the legal contact bit as forum members may not be aware of this

Thanks Christine. It is a requirement now under the new framework to get information from parents about who has parental responsibility and legal contact, legal contact means if parents are married they both have legal contact, or if they are not married, they may not have legal contact unless they have been to court. Hope thats made sense.
Tammy
Have a good Christmas

Hi tammy my mindees parent has answered these questions about legal contact etc and stated that both parents have legal contact but i dont think she has understood the question as they are not married and seperated and as far as i know they have not been to court. Does this mean neither of them have legal responsibillity? Thanks hun x

The ofsted lady said that i was the only childminder that had done this, she just said that if they were married they both had legal rights to the child, so i think she ment you couldnt stop a parent who had this legal right from picking the child up.
If i was you i would just get parents to fill it in and leave it there cus at the end of the day we are not going to ask for court papers lol
Think that will be ok, thats what i have done.
