I've had my phone call this afternoon. My inspection is next week (narrowed to Mon, Wed or Fri as either I'm off or the inspector is). I don't know if I'm dreading it or not as I'm pretty much prepared. I'll certainly be glad to get it over with. Only thing is I need to get my Sef done over the weekend as only partially completed and I have two university assignments to be in next friday...no sleep for me this weekend
Sarahnev here I come for your sef guidance:laughing:

ARGHHHHHHHHHHH i hate ofsted, i rang them agin and they said they dont know if they will inspect me before or after christmas  so basically i have to put christmas on hold until they ring me. So my son has to suffer by not having his christmas tree up. I cant believe i cant get into the festive spirit now because im too busy worrying about ofsted!!

I honestly know what you mean as now that i know i am being inspected week after next i am feeling better, but try and relax and just keep on top of everything you are doing, i am putting my tree up that weekend so will no doubt be spending most of my time keeping the baby off the tree!!
Just hope i get an am inspection before i pick up the monster 3 year old i have from nursery

I once had a social services inspection (back in the days before ofsted) where a minded child did nothing but tantrum and create for the whole visit. I was commended on my calmness and how I dealt with the little monster.
I had another inspection when my son (4 at the time) decided to pee against a tree in the garden infront of the inspector. He had never ever done anything like that before. I was mortified, the inspector laughed.

Hi I wouldn't worry too much about sef, I had my inspection yesterday and she could see I had a saved copy of my sef, so they know if you have started it. They just cant read it when saved. I told her I was only on question 4 and she just asked that I print it out and she had a read whilst she was here. However I got a blank copy and filled it in with notes and bullet points as notes for myself when being questioned, well that was my intention but she read through that too and was pleased I had made a start on it.
Good luck!!! It won't be as bad as you expect!!! Mine came in the afternoon and most of my children were sleeping except the baby who was only up for half hour.
My whole inspection was over in less than 2 hours!!!
Julia
Try not to worry, I wish they would do me before Christmas. Mine was due in September so I am living day by day at the moment. Good luck for next week.

She came today and it all went really well, she said I made her feel very welcome and she joined in with some singing and helped clear up after painting. I got 4 outstandings and the rest all goods so my overall grade is good. She was really pleased with everything, saying she would have liked to give me outstandings in some of the ones she'd graded me as good, but there wasn't quite enough evidence that what I did had the wow factor in those areas. She was with me just over 2 hours during that time the kids had a big arguement and she was impressed with my behaviour mangement and diversionary tactics woo hoo!!
I managed to do my SEF on Saturday and she had read it yesterday before coming today. I was glad that the SEF hadn't been locked, I'm sure the inspection would have taken longer without it. I was the first childminder she'd given any outstandings to under the EYFS so that was brill!
