I got a GOOD across the board :clapping: :clapping: :clapping: :clapping:

Well she actually said that I'd more than met the requirements to achieve a good and couldn't see why I shouldn't get outstanding next time. I got the impression that she was one of these inspectors that will not give out outstandings of 1st inspections.

She said she was very impressed with all aspects of my paperwork and that the learning and development part of things was very very good and above and beyond what I needed to do.

She also said that my SEF was the best example she'd seen (thanks Sarah, that's down to your fantastic guide) and was very realistic and she agreed with it all apart from were I'd put satisfactory for myself.

A big thank you to everyone on here for your wonderful advice as you have helped me achieve such a good first inspection.

Yeah - she gave me a leaflet which links to a guide Ofsted produce and said that if I carried on in the same vein, a bit more experience then all should be OK.

I also want to get on the local network and do my NCMA Quality Assurance which will all help.

I only had 2 actions which were minor administrative ones so nothing there to go on.

Just had my first eyfs inspection on monday, good in all area's "vergeing on outstanding" her words, was quite disappointed, hoping for outstanding.no recommendations. Iasked her what i would have to do to get o/s her reply, "you do realize i am not in a position to help or advice you but if i were you i would show that you are continually assessing your setting, you can do this by continually updating the SEF and making sure all risk assessments are dated" A few of the ones i had updated did not have date of update on.The SEF i had to download cause i was unable to get on their site to complete, still can't.Should have asked her if my updating it every week would have made any difference to my grade !!!. Now that i've got that off my chest, WHOOPEE it's done, three years before i have to do it again.

I know exactly how you feel. I was just the same - whilst delighted that I got a good I was also disappointed that it wasn't outstanding. She couldn't manage to fault me on anything. My recommendations were "take off address on my complaints form" and add "in childminders own car on outings permission form" and that was it.

She said that my policies and procedures were excellent as were my risk assessments. She also siad that I was more than meeting the needs of my mindee and that I had clearly put in my SEF what I would do if I had children with additional needs. She also said that my learning, development and planning was once again excellent and that I had done above and beyond what I needed to do interms of assessment and observation. She could clearly see how planning and observation were linked and building on each other. So I'm at a loss at exactly what I need to do to achieve an outstanding next time - although she did mention that with "some more experience under my belt" so maybe thats it - depsite the fact that I have taught Early Years for 12 years and have 3 childrenm of my own!!
