you just need to show that you understand that the dog should never be left alone with children, all petfood, water bowls, dishes etc are out of reach. I have a utility room and all food and bowls are kept and washed in there. I also have a written policy stating that the dog is regularly treated for parasites and record the dates when they are treated. Also the children wash their hands after they have handled the dog or his toys, this is what I have written down but it's difficult when the children seem to be more interested in the dogs toys than the kids toys!

We have very bouncy springer spaniel and Ofsted were fine on my pre reg visit. Just explained about hand washing after touching the dog, not leaving children un supervised, clearing up dog mess etc.. oh and to make sure they are up to date with jabs/worming/flea treatment. My inspector did not want to see records from the vets but I believe some have asked for to see them.
In our garden we do have fenced off play area that the dog can not get into... they were impressed with this:clapping:
My dog does not come in the lounge when I am minding, he stays in the kitchen (except at food times) and consevatory or outside.
Try not to worry too much!

this is what i am worried about. we cannot put up a spereate fenced area in the garden because of our back door goes down a small alley way where everyone has to go down ro get into the garden.

I do not have a separate area in my garden for my dog. I take my dog for a walk so he can go to the toilet and if he does go in the garden it is cleaned up immediately. I also check the garden each morning if we are planning on using it just in case anything has been missed. This is written in my pet policy and ofsted were fine with it
