hi not sure how it works in different areas but;
i joined our networks and we needed to have a good or above in our last ofsted inspection to be able to join and access the free training etc,
BUT,,, some of my friends on the network are worried that now we are inspected on the new EYFS that they might not get a Good, so if we dont get Good does this mean we have to leave the Network?
dont realy want to ring them up it seems they are very busy and rush us on the phone.
has this ever happened to any one before?
thank you x

Have to be honest here...even if your network is busy they should be helping you so that you will still get a good (or even an outstanding) when you are inspected. Do not be afraid to bother them, after all that is their job!!
On our network the development workers visit their allocated childminders at least every 8 weeks to ensure they are accessing the support they need.
If you feel you need help be brave and ask for it:)

never heard of it...seems a bit odd?!
i would give them a call they are there to support you!
PS . How are you meant to progress if there is no training available?!

As part of my network we have been able to access additional EYFS training and had a huge amount of support implementing it. I personally feel that if you are on a network you should be getting a good or outstanding and anyone who cannot get that, should have their status on the network reviewed, after all this is our job.

I cannot believe that they would take you off the network.
i am in Swindon and the network are financed through grants and I am sure that Surestart would not allow this to happen.
Why not email your DO and ask for clarification on the point and then at least you have something in writing and if you are right, then take it up with Surestart
What a cheek!

kelly i agree , we have had lots of training offered and im sure we will all do well in our inspections even though we are shaking in our boots,
but ofsted still have off days and are picky etc so some of us were worried that if we didnt get good we would be kicked of the network,
a lot of good minders on ere have done well in their inspections but just missed getting a good so what would that mean to the network ?
i think ill ring them and ask or when i next see some one on training at weekend, just wondered if it has happened to any1 ?

I am sure that the network co-ordinators would just have to provide extra support and review the childminders procedures etc on a more regular basis, rather than be removed.
I agree that Ofsted inspectors have off days and I am sure that the network co-ordinators have a much better knowledge of your setting, so would know if there was a major problem.
