all children have their own file with contracts, permission forms, obs and relevant info to them

Sounds good - What about your risk assessments for your setting and for all outings? Don't forget them, you need them under the EYFS.
How about fridge temp checks and visitor log (sorry if you already mentioned these)
Have you got a fire evacuation plan displayed? And fire drill records? Sorry again if you already mentioned these!
ummmm... my inspector liked to see I had "useful numbers" displayed (for local police, dev officer, ncma, ofsted childrens care services (ss) and local safeguarding children board, etc)

Have you got emergency contact details for each child in a format you can take out with you?
Sounds like you've thought of everything else!
Good luck! :D

Hi yes have a small file that has all contact info in including mine, Have a card displayed showing the number for safe gaurding children, have emergency plan displayed plus floor plan of house with exits , got fire drill records. Got risk assessments but dont think they are wondeful so will try and work on these in the week. Havent got fridge temp so will look into doing this. Hopefully all will go well. Will have a 14mth old but she will be in bed for some of inspection and lo nearly 4yr.

My ofsted preinspection lady said that we dont need fridge temp checks and that she had heard someone in sainsburys saying she was giving up childminding because she had to check her fridge temp, She said she had to stop herself joining in and saying actually you dont. My preinspection lady said it was a myth and just showed outstanding good practice but was more for the food standards people rather than ofsted and that it was definately not a must.
I stand corrected if she and I are both wrong, just waiting for sarah to type in the bit of the standards where it says you should :)

You' re right Paula, you don't have to have firdge temp checks. But it does show good practice. It is up to you if you want to add on the "extras"

The inspector is right!
Taking fridge temps is all about proving you are not negligent in case a child contracts food poisoning.
It's part of the 'safer food better business' pack which you should be using as part of your HACCP folder.
It is, however, good practice and Ofsted will be very happy to see it happening.
Hth :D

Hi just wanted to wish you good luck. The only thing I could add from childminders around here who have had their inspections, is to ensure you link the observation to the specific areas of the EYFS.
