Well as some of you know I was due my inspection this week.

Well she turned up on monday arrived at 1.45 and was gone at 3:eek:

My last inspection was so thorough I almost expected her to ask to see if I was wearing clean knickers in case I got run over :D

This time she arrived I has a very short while to talk to her and then R arrived we played for a bit I read her a story and then It was time for school run. As I was busy she chatted to Nige as he was in for his lunch even though he is not my assistant or anything :D

I was gonna do the remainder of the inspection over the phone Tuesday, but she has not phoned.

So months of worrying that I was due an inspcetion and making sure i was all sorted over half term and blink and you would have missed it. She only met one minded child and the older ones were gutted that they didn't get to meet her.

Worse still I haven't got a grading

All I do know is that she will reccomend that I have planning in place so that next steps are recorded for R and that I liase with playschool. I don't collect from playschool etc mum does that but I have to " find" and way to liase with them???!!!! :panic:

Will keep you updated as and when I know

I'm pleased it went well for you Flora.

Can't say I've heard of doing an inspection over the phone before - wonder if that's a new thing?

There seems to be an awful lot being said by inspectors about us having to liaise with other settings so why I wonder has no other setting decided that they need to liaise with me and if I mention it they look at me blankly?

Good point! i deal with two nurseries and only one knew what I was talking about!! Surely it's their responsibility as much as ours?

Could you provide a little exercise book where PG might write down anything important in and you can do the same and send it via mum

well done flora!

at least its over (all bar the 'phone inspection') never heard of that before!

i agree ... i was telling my dd preschool that i had to work in conjunction with other settings, and they said they knew about having to work with other preschools ( in fact, they'd had one preschool asking to to do visits to see child at other setting!!!! ) but didn't know about working with childminders, and that is despite having at least 4 (other) childminders collecting !!!
