I am completely brain dead can anyone remember the old grading titles that ofsted used to award settings. Were there 6 grades instead of 4 - I just can't remember for the life of me.

Do you mean before outstanding was added?

I thought originally there were only good satisfactory and inadequate but I'm probably wrong

Oh I thought there were more - could childminders have had different gradings 2 nurseries, schools & FE Colleges I thought there was something instead of outstanding. In 2003 The nursery I used to work at got a really high grade and so did the FE college I worked at they were the Top college in the country. Then when I went to work at my last FE college in 2005 we had to work to the new gradings - infact we had a whole inset day dedicated to it.- I don't know anymore.

There might have been more Celine I'm not sure but the top grade before outstanding was introduced was definitely good - not sure when outstanding was brought in but I'd guess 2006.

Sorry don't know if nurseries/colleges had different gradings
