after having to cancel my inspection because my son was ill, and then tell the inspector i couldn't do a whole lot of days as i take my son to hospital for tests and stuff, i finally had my inspection almost weeks ago and have just got the paperwork!

i am OUTSTANDING! (well, thats what the inspector told me at the time!) and yes, it does say outstanding in lots of the boxes!

but ... i got a GOOD in 'helping children enjoy & achieve' because i don't have any links with other settings that my EYFS children attend ... thats because apart from my daughter ... NONE of them attend another setting! (and she doesn't count!) i said that was something i would do once i had need to do so! thats my only recommendation! but it gives me a GOOD for 'how effectively are children in the EYFS helped to learn & develop'

so out of 14 possible outstandings, i got 12, and on the screen she showed me on her laptop, there was a box saying 'overall grade-outstanding'. nowhere on this report does it give an overall grade!

i am really really pleased, i worked hard for this, but still, i would like a little box that says 'outstanding' !!!

The way I understand things, these new gradings give the option for the inspector to give you one or 2 small improvements (often 'continue to improve' or something taken from your own Sef) and still grade outstanding.

Congratulations! :clapping:

Fantastic well done! Shame she had to be so picky especially as you don't need to be working with other settings at the moment.

Well done on a fantastic inspection.

I think that is so wrong how can they mark you down on working with other settings if the children do not attend any other settings. I know that you have to work with other settings even the ones you don't actually pick up from eg if child goes to a nursery on a day you don't have them but how can you work with settings if they don't atend any!!!!!!!

I wish they would give an overall grade on there reports though, can be hard for parents to understand I think.

Congratulations on your inspection. I think it's being too picky too if the child isn't attending any other settings, it's like grading you down for your ability to change nappies if all you take are over 5s..

you should be very proud of yourself! ;)
