Hello all,

I just wanted to get your inputs about filling these in - I know everyone is different with it but I really need some help filling it in on the net.

Anyone help me on this?

Thanks, Keri

Not sure what you are asking hun... sorry!

The best way I have found to fill in the Sef is to do it on your computer over a period of weeks...

Spell check then upload into the online Sef when you are ready :D

Have you got your guidance notes? They should have been sent to you or you should be able to find them online somewhere.

Also, there is help in the actual SEF if you click the help panel.

Best thing to do is take each section at a time, read the question and just write what you feel you do to meet it. It's a bit like a written inspection, the more you can tell the inspector the better so that they can get an idea about your setting and what you do :)

I made myself tackle a section or two every evening, with a little treat if I did! Once I got stuck in, it wasn't quite as bad as I anticipated. By doing a bit every day I finished it in about three weeks!! It wasn't exactly a bundle of fun!! Just keep ploding away and write down everything you think could be relevant. You will probably find yourself repeating yourself at times!
Remember to sell yourself as much as you can!!
Good luck!!

A friend of mine completed her SEF online last Sunday evening and submitted it, the following morning she received a call from Ofsted to do her inspection. This took place on Wednesday, the inspector was really pleased that she had filled out her SEF and her inspection only alsted 90 minutes. Well worth the effort! However, saying that, I still have a couple of sections to complete. Now I know Ofsted call you straight away, I may hold out a little longer. lol
