Pre-reg is about making sure you are getting ready to childmind.
That you have a working knowledge of the standards and ideas how you are going to do the job.
It's not a test, they should be supporting you.
If there are any safety things you will get a notice to get it sorted before you start minding.
Is yours due soon? :D
probably by the end of november :D

:) Have you had a local council pre inspection. I found that very useful. Its like a pre pre-inspection :) They have a check list and they use that to see what it is needs doing and then ask what you are doing. I now have a few things i need to do and I'm sending my application to ofsted off tomorrow.

Don't be worried, they are on your side. They are not out to trick you or anything but to support you in getting prepared.
Good luck, but you won't need it! :)
i've never cleaned, scrubbed, washed so much (not that my house was messy) but i'm so worried that they'll think i'm not good enough!

I did the same and on the day one of my daughters was ill and had been sick 5 mins before she arrived )frantic cleaning and air freshners needed :panic: Things never go right. Also I had the warmfront man here and the carpet fitter LOL who kept knocking every few minutes asking me to go and get something or look for something. In the end she was lovely about it and ended up staying an hour and a half. Hope yours is as nice.

In the same boat as you Hebs. I'm going to be sending off my application forms by the end of the week.
Been scrubbing everything today, just so that i don't have too much to do when they do turn up!
Been hacking away at the gardent today and after cutting down a bush that was on the "danger" list i've got a nice big area that i think could be used as a willow tepee. What do you think?
The pre-reg ones are to help us, just make up a wish list of things that need to be put in place, shows that you are thinking ahead.
Just got to try and get some mindees as it's gone a bit quiet around here [sad]

Please try no to worry - so says she that was like a woman demented:blush: . I was OFSTED registered and moved to Wales and had to re-register with CSSIW. So I have done pre-reg and been inspected and I was good as an OFSTED childminder but I still paniced and scrubbed everywhere and everything. I was in such a state - the hoover stopped working that morning:eek: - I was swearing at my poor DH. As soon as she arrived I relaxed cos she was lovely:) .
Then next doors cat decided to visit and I didn't realise as I had my back to her but she jumped on the dining table and started walking over it to the inspector - She had never done that before and hasn't since:eek: luckily the inspector liked cats.
You will be fine the initial OFSTED visit is to help and advise you so that you can be a great childminder:clapping:
