I (shamefully) don't have one of these and feel I ought to get one and start recording fridge temps as I give before schooler breakfast. but I can't seem to find one in our little town. Does anybody know where I can get a cheap one online (or free? Free is even better!)?

You can buy various different types.....it really depends on how much you want to spend.

I got one in a local cheapy shop but I can't understand it!!!:laughing: The inspector yesterday never mentioned it anyway.

i dont have a fridge thing but i have this other thing which sits in the middle of the fridge and it says ok on it but if the temperature change the ok goes away. i bought it from sainsburys it costs 98p and worth every penny

i have tested it to see if it changes and it does

The reason behind having a fridge thermometer is...

You buy food at a safe temp, you get it home quickly, you store it at a safe temp, you monitor the cooked temp... you can prove it wasn't you if a child is struck down with food poisoning - which is a notifiable illness and quite scary if you are descended on by EHOs and Ofsted.

So cover yourself :D

mine was chaep from Asda but its not very good. I am going to get a better one as the numbers are very small, but they are hard to find. Will have to resort to ebay as well

This is where I got mine, buy the food probe and get the fridge therm free! (They sent me 2 free! which was handy as I have 2 fridges!)

I bought a probe (£5) and fridge thermometer (£2.25) off a shop on ebay. Thought that was me sorted and remembered i need some coloured chopping boards :eek:
