Ofsted rang me yesterday asking if i was minding so i said just a 7 year old boy after school.

I asked about eyfs and said i dont need to do anything etc.

Normally after school i let him do whatever he wants normally watches tv, plays on the wii, plays lego or trains, or plays on the ds. Am i ok to do this when ofsted are here or will they be expecting more?

To be honest Louise, I am not sure what else you can do , except what you would do normally... ifyswim ???

My first inspection was when my minded was 6 and he was my only one and an after schoolie.

She note how we interacted and how I showed interest in what he was doing, they were at the time pulling loads of dusty videos off the shelves and making a fort with them with my ds

I was 13 week pg when I had my last inspection and feeling like ****

some dust was visable...... but of all the things to play with!!!!!!

Anyway she was ok with this and so juts try and go with the flow.

I would do what you usually do & show her your resources & any paperwork you have in preparation for EYFS...if/when you have to use it! Good luck:thumbsup:

I'm not planning on doing eyfs at all though. I'm going to college or uni in september so i'm only taking on over 5's so i dont have to do it.

I'd do whatever you normally do otherwise the child will let you down by saying something like "why can't I play on the ds like I always do!!"

The main thing is to show an interest in what he is doing, ask him about high scores or what the characters are doing (sorry don't know much about these ds things:rolleyes:) just show the inspector that you don't just stick him in front of the TV or game machine and go and do something else! :)

You will be fine
