I tried prinitng with a load of leaves the other day and it did not work but then my youngest came home from preschool with some lovely leaf prints! What did they do right? I think I must have put too much paint on as couldn't see the veins a such at all or even the shape of leaf! Do you brush paint on lightly...? Know it sounds dumb but need help!

The answer is yes - I was just lying leaves on a plate of paint before - I have just gone and brushe paint lightly with a brush and voila....a lovely print! Now whether an 18 mth old and 2 yr old can do this as gently as me is another thing!

I tried leaf painting yesterday and I had the same problem, it just looked like a smear of paint.
I thought it was just me doing it wrong.

when i do leave printing i get the children to paint on the underside of the leave as it turns out better also another idea with leaves , i laminate leaves that the children collect and laminate them to make a mobile.
