hello everyone!

i have been reading this fascinating forum the past few weeks and today have taken the plunge to join!

and the reason ... i had some time on my hands to read and digest the posts, not just skim ...

because ... i was due an inspection today or tomorrow ( but i was pretty sure it was today ) ... first charge arrived, and we took my ds to school ... where, out of the blue he was very sick in the playground! ... so back home, arranging for the mother to collect first charge, and sending 2nd charge home as he arrived! dd went to nursery with a friend as pre-arranged (so i wasn't rushing for when ofsted was due!) ... sorted son out ... thought inspector may have arrived by then, but she hadn't, so then rang ofsted and told them. they told the inspector and she rang me back a few minutes later.

told her what had happened and that i'd sent/was sending all minded children home. she said she would have to come next week, wed/thur/fri. i said i was sorry, but that the children had a gym class on thurs and music on fri and they took up most of the morning, she said ok, she would see me mon/tue/wed, as i paused and mentally ran through in my mind plans for next week, she said '' you do have to make yourself available you know '' i said i did know, and i was free the rest of the week, just not thursday and friday!

so now i am not looking forward to next week ( can't say i was that keen on the inspection today ) but she sounded as if i she thought i was being awkward! (oh well ... i'm reading it that she will come next wednesday!)

so i've spent the whole day on my own with ds resting in bed or watching tv, and no other children till hour ago when dd came home! its been very quiet, and i have resisted the temptation to do anything more for my inspection, as in theory, she would have been here!!!!

anyway! end of waffle, just needed to share the horror of my day!

thanks for 'listening'

Oh don't worry about it - your quick thinking saved her a wasted journey - you might have had to turn her away at the door

Good luck for next week

Hope your ds is better soon

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Well they can't expect everything to always run smoothly these things happen. They would be the first to say carry on as normal.

You are quite right not to go doing loads more paperwork etc. Good luck for next week and let us know how it goes.
