have you all had a letter from ofsted apologizing for a previous incorrect letter? Notice there only seems to be the 20 day limit for replying to parents complaints rather than the previous 28 for one register and 20 for the other. Is this right? if so I will not need to have 2 wordings on my complaints form just 20 days. I am sure someone on the forum has read the letter better than me as I was scanning it over lunch with the children!

Is that to do with document 080161 or something. The discrepancies between that and EYFS?

They are not discrepancies... they are apparently meant to be differences.

There are threads knocking around about it Mjw... here's one!

No this letter says
" We recently wrote to you to tell you about how your registration with Ofsted would continue from September 2008, folloeing the changes arising from the Childcare Act 2006
Unfortunately it appears that you were sent a leaflet with that letter which contained some errors. We are therefore reissuing the leaflet. Please read it carefuly and destry the copy we previously sent you"

Come on you sharp eyes in the forum what are the differences in this new leaflet.

Yes I received this letter a few weeks ago!

This is how the letter begins -

We recently wrote to you to tell you about how your regisstration with ofsted would continue from September 2008, following the changes arising from the Childcare Act 2008.

Unfortunately, it appears that you were sent a leaflet with that letter which contained some errors. We are therefore reissuing the leaflet. Please read it carefully and destroy the copy we previously sent you.

They are talking about it being a "leaflet" - but it isn't what I would class as being a LEAFLET. It is the A4 sheets (letter) that was sent to us all before September which had all the new requirements on headed by numbers such as - CR1.1 - Childminders and home childcarers must insure that children recieving childcare are kept safe from harm, etc.

The letter states CR1.8, CR4.2 and CR5.4 are incorrect in the previous letter (which ofsted are calling a "leaflet")

Hi I had this letter a couple of weeks ago and posted some queries on here about it. Some people seem to have had it and some not. I have changed my complaints policy to say 20 days. Also OFSTED said to keep letter to show which register we are on until new certificates come out.

I've got this too but not the letter Mary talks about mentioning errors. I had a visit from my CSDO at the beginning of Sept and she brought it with her then as far as I remember. It is entitled Requirements for the Childcare Register and the only ones I have marked is CR7.1 which states that Childminders must have a written statement of procedures to be followed in relation to complaints which relate to the requirements of the Childcare Register and which a parent makes in writing or email and CR7.4 where it says you have to inform the parents who make a complaint the outcome of the complaint in 20 days (not 28). That's all I have.
