Well I knew it was coming!!! My 1st ofsted inspection!!! :panic: :panic:
They are also going to look at the issue of my variation request for overnight care as a parent has asked me to have her daughter every now and again!
The thing is, is that she will have to share a room with my daughter. I didn’t think there would be a problem as another minder I was told said that as longs as the children are happy with it then there shouldn’t be a problem.
Not they are saying that they would prefer a separate room! Huff! Can they not make their minds up?
Also this is my 1st inspection and all I want to do is freak the hell out! They say not to worry but that’s all I can do!!!!
What things do I need to see to ensure that I am ready for this????

I got really worked up bout mine - it went really well but i was lucky to be one of the last ones under the old way of doing things. As long as you have all the compulsory bits in place dont worry. (although its hard not too - and i probably will be next time as it will be my first under eyfs)
Be yourself and i am sure they will love you. x
Good luck and Let us know how it goes.

Good luck Emma.
When you find out who your inspector is, look at the Ofsted reports she's already made - it will tell you what she's particularly interested in....
Good luck - let me know, I'm still waiting for the call!

Can't help with what you need for the inspection as i was inspected under the old stuff. At least your going to get it over and done with quickly though, i was registered a year (had only actually been working though for 7 months) when i got inspected, and i actually HAD to ring them to say i was working.
Good luck with it all though. :)

Thats what i was think too Sandra but i got my call on thursday saying they were coming next week!! Have spent the last two nights trying to get my SEF finished. Another hour or so tomorrow and i should be done. :) Though i will still be spending all my time going through paper work making sure every thing is up to date. I'm not confident, just stressed! I will work none stop now until they come!!
I asked my inspector about SEF when she phoned and she said it would be fine if it wasn't done but would be helpful if i'd done some of it. I told her i would do some of it but may be a case of printing off what i had done for her to look at when she is here. Spoke to childminding coordinator yesterday and she just said if have not done SEF then inspector will want to go through everything so if i can get it done it means they might not stay as long. I'm nearly finished mine though so hopefully should be able to submit it tomorrow. (Think you just click on the submit button on the website and it automatically sends it??)
Apparently i'm only the 3rd or 4th person in my area to be inspected under the EYFS. Great! I'll be the guinea pig for the inspector and on my first inspection too!!

Can I ask Emma and Bubbles - Have you sent off your SEF?? I am still in the middle of mine and I am wondering if you did, cos ofsted may have thought -"well we should do their inspection now??":panic:

I've been registered since July and they are coming next week:eek: I told the lady that I had only done some of the sef in a rough format & she said not to worry as long as she has something to read when she is here that tells her what i'm planning to do to develop my service. She sounded nice though and another cm who got an outstanding from her advised me to be confidently assertive (even if I dont feel that underneath)!!
