Help......................................

Ofsted have just rung, they are coming to inspect me some time soon, there will be two of them. He asked if I had been on the EYFS training and what children I was caring for. He also suggested that I complete my SEF as a matter of urgency, i.e. tonight!!

I am shaking...literally! Thought I would be fine but I am panicking now.

I know some of you have said to check for ID when they arrive and to sign visitors book, but what else should I remember???

:panic: :panic: :panic: :panic: :panic: :panic: :panic: :panic:

Breathing helps.

Just be yourself and go about your normal routine. Take a breath before you answer anything. Hand washing, nappy changing routine, check all your important paperwork like permission forms etc are signed. Best of luck and let us know how you get on.

The best advice is to be true to yourself and dont try to change anything because ofsted are there cause it will be obvious! I got my self in a right tizzy and she noticed how stressed I was (not good)! Im just hoping she doesnt write anything too negative in my report cause I was so nervous. As said before think before you speak and take things slowly. I made some notes for her to read with regards to our daily routine and noted all the things we do on a daily basis such as wash hands, only eat healthy food, change towels daily, onserve road safety when out and about, what activities you do and why, how you are an inclusive practice, how you promote racial awareness/cultures etc etc. That way she wont have to ask you as much. GOOD LUCK.x

The SEF closes 3 days before they come so you have until next week to get sorted and double check what is what.

Relax and enjoy

oh good luck Helen. I was always in a panic that I'm due one soon but then I thought oh what the hell, I've been looking after children for over 30 years but I think I might still panic a bit when I get the call. I worry about forgetting to wash my hands or wear my gloves when I change nappies, purely cos someone is there and you know they're watching you. I've always hated being watched, it puts me in a mucking fuddle.

Hopefully you'll say it was better than you thought when it's over like most of the other girls do!!!
