Wanna a laugh this morning.
Three months back I applied in plenty of time for my new reg certificate when middle son turned 8.
I have now phoned Ofsted 3 times to chase it up.
Last week I was told their computers where down and someone would get back to me - you can guess the next bit - correct have a can of custard - no one did!.
Anyway I have rung them again this morning and guess what again, my certificate has been send start of last month. I was told you should have it.... errrr no thats why I am ringing you (off he goes again - isn't that musak infuriating and loud). He comes back - well it goes out registered post (and he proceeds to tell me all about registered post) you (meaning me) must have been out when they have tried to deliver it. Maybe but I haven't had a card saying come and get it.
off he goes again - more music......comes back.... oh well we will reissue another certificate for you....
ok I said but I am a little concerned that personal and working details are on the other certificate, where has it gone then??? eeerr, ummmmm (he says)... it appears to have been lost in the post then.... (me) what do you mean lost - that has my personal details on and my EY number..... (him) we are re-issuing you another one so don't worry.... (I gave up at this point cuz he just wasn't getting it). I asked how long this will take to get to me - "hopefully" by the end of this week.

I did say that I thought their organisation wasn't great and that if I lost vital documents would Ofsted show me the same consideration - that really stumped him so I just thanked him an said goodbye.
Like I say - classic Ofsted.

I am the same as Lisa in always getting two of everything - I didn't think I was a twin - it would be nice cos then the other half could do some paperwork.
You can guarantee though, when I really want something from them they will lose it alltogether - bless them, it must be really hard.

typical and as for him not getting the point of what you were sayin it had personal details and ey number on it,
maybe you should ring and ask for the tracking code, surely they keep that as a record incase they did go walkies.

Unbelievable! or maybe not...
Hope you get the other one soon and manage to track the missing one down too.
Oh crikey. My daughter turns 8 next month and I was told, (yep you've guessed it, by Ofsted, ) that they automatically re-issue a certificate and I don't need to do anything!
Guess I'm going to have to get on the phone in the morning then and give them a prod.

Well i'd really like to know what ratio of people at ofsted etc actually have children, and what qualifications they hold to actually do the job, especially the inspectors..
I too would love to get my pa's head on and go and sort them out, and i havent even been graded yet!
Not wishing to brag  but I've 2 of my own, before and after them took my NNEB, ran a youth club for 8 - 25 yr olds, worked as a nanny on 3 seperate occasions, ran a mother and toddler group, was a parent govenor, and worked as a learning support assistant. not as experianced as some but getting there
let me at them..lol:D

You brag away Mandy - our acheivements as mothers and childcare workers are undersung - so if we don't do it no one wil do it for us!!!
But you see that is Ofsted - giving us something more to keep us on our toes all the time because we don't have much else going on:laughing:

You need to write them a letter jinx stating whats changed - they will then write back to you telling you they are changing the conditions on your reg cert adn is this correct - you write back saying yes (or something longwinded like that).
