Time to get positive and look forward to having a wee munchy 5.5month old in the house :)
Not got much in the way of baby stuff really, so any recommendations for toys?
Also in need of a baby chair so any good ones of those, don't mind paying a bit more for that for a lasting quality babychair.

I loved the Mamas and Papas Vibrating chair, they play music, vibrate and have a toybar as well. Think it cost me £40 but that was about 5 years ago and its still going strong.
Not sure if they still do them as alot of places are into the swings

A baby ring is great. Even when they can sit they stilll sit in it and play with toys. Mine has a rubbber ring in it so you cna deflate it and put it away.

I have the fisherprice auquarium baby swing - fab if needing to keep baby entertained whilst seeing to mindee's or say pre-pairing lunch.
Also get a really good highchair that has the recline position, that way baby will be able to sit comfortably while feeding & also has somewhere to sit when doing activities at the table.
Those nests are good when baby is learning to sit unaided, elc do a nice one
A nice toy that my baby loved is the elc blossom farm water mat, can sit & squish the animals or lay down & squish, great fun! & of course anything loud haha!

i like swings for young babies but both mine would rather be rolling on the floor by 5 months so might not be worth you getting one,
we have a fisher price infant to toddler rocker which ive had since jack was born and hes nearly 3 1/2 now and he still sits in it to look at books, i might get another one for jessica(16 months) cos they fight over who sits in it lol
my 2 didnt like the play nest things but loved the pat mat that katickles mentioned
toys wise anything noisy or that moved was a big hit at that age
