Hi everyone!
Our schools finish Friday for the summer, has anyone started the summer holiday yet ? Are you working if so will you be busy?
I have the first week off but we are not going away this year, we have some jobs to do at home and plan to have some days out locally. I wouldn't have chosen the first week to take off but I had to fit around DHs work too :( Anyone have any exciting plans?
I am then working the rest of the holidays and some days I am fully booked and others are very quiet with some days only one booked in at the moment. A lot of my current families are term time only.
Maza how are you feeling now the EYPDP is all finished? I am glad its over, I have mixed feelings about the course, I think a lot depends on your webinar group mine was ok but a lot of the time there was a lot of 'other' chit chat going on and I don't feel I got as much from it as I expected but it maybe because I have been doing this job a long time now.

Hi Pixie & everyone.
Our schools break up on Tuesday, but I don't have school aged children so it doesn't make much difference. Having said that, one of my children is TTO so he'll finish next week for 6 weeks, but I have one of the other children taking the space for the holidays. Most of them are away at some time or other during the hols, so I won't have many weeks when I've got everyone in.
I've got some time booked off towards the end of the hols and will be heading off to Wales for a week.
Well done on getting through the EYPDP. I was lucky and was in a lovely webinar group. A few of us are still in touch now on WhatsApp. I don't know that I learned a great deal, but I did pick up some good ideas. And the payment for doing it made it worthwhile! :D
Our schools break up tomorrow. I've had one current mum chop and change what she wants so much for summer, but I've had an old schoolie mindee who wanted any space I could offer, so I'm not missing out money wise but my head was spinning with all the changing requests.
I'm glad the course has ended. We had a decent group in the end, took a few sessions to warm up but then it was good. My SENCO group were hard work though. I do feel like I have tons of free time now, which is lovely.
Moan alert...My children bring wellies and waterproofs at the start of the week, leave them at mine and I send home on the last day of their week. I always have one family who not only send in muddy wellies, but they are still 'attached' to the muddy waterproof dungarees by the stirrups. They are usually inside out like the child literally pulled them off. They drop dried mud everywhere when I separate them, and the stirrups are caked in mud and it gets in my fingernails as I pull them off the boots, after sniffing them first to check that they haven't trodden in anything nasty. (The same choppy changey mum from above!) This week, I let the child wear her regular shoes all week as we didn't go anywhere muddy, and I just sent the boots home today, still attached and inside out. I bet she still won't get the hint :blush: I know, I should be happy that the child gets to have outdoor adventures over the weekend, but still, none of the other families send them in like that.
Can you believe the Olympics start soon! Will you be watching?

School breaks up TODAY !!!!
I've got a busy, but also quiet holidays, with mainly my little ones coming, then random schoolies/holiday children! already ... with the list of things they want to do - i don't think we can fit it all in :laughing::laughing: I'm off the first 2 weeks of August, and am looking forward to the break.
I'll be watching a bit of the Olympics, but i'm not overly fussed. I have an old mindee running for team GB in the athletics, so will be attempting to watch that!
