Can a childminder have a second home they live in?

Yes but if i needed to i could stay overnight in the house childminding during the week.

A childminder works from their home - they can also work up to 50% of the week in other premises such as at an after school club.
Any other scenarios need to be run past Ofsted :D

Think it may be classed as a non domestic setting as it's not your main residence - so as Sarah says you will need to speak to Ofsted about what this would be classed and inspected as.
