Finally had my no children on role inspection this morning!

She said she would be here at 11 but got here for 10.30 and I wasn't quite ready. The paperwork was all laid out but I wanted to set out more toys (which have all been stored away for the past six months. Anyway, she didn't mind. I passed. She stayed for 1 and a half hours. So relieved to get it done. Thanks everyone for al your help. DH taking me to lunch now to celebrate. x

Well done - I said to my husband a while ago that next time that "they" phone I'll say that I'm having a break, tell her what day I will be in, make other arrangements for the mindees on that day, have an inspection with no children on the role - hopefully get Met and then conveniently start work again the next day - far less stressful than an inspection with the little darlings present!

Really don't think I could stand another inspection and I plan on retiring in 4 years time, but may possibly get inspected in 3 years.

Some days I think I definitely would love to be doing it again. Other days I will remember something - usually the noisy drop offs that I have written about several times - and shudder. It's definitely nice to have the option of going into it again. My current teaching contract ends on 31st August (doing maternity cover) and so I need to start thinking soon.

Recently in my borough, it seems as if there has been a HUGE blitz of inspections. Since September, over 60 inspections have been done in my borough ( and we still have 5 more months left) , whereas only 57 were carried out last year. ( the year previous to this the number was less than 20)

Mine was done in February after just over 6 years.

In September the next cycle starts, does this mean that for those who have been recently inspected, we could be picked straight out again?

February, as in last month? Mine was 2 months ago and as she was leaving she said something like 'ok well see you in 4 - 5 years time'.
So hopefully we'll be in similar order unless something needs addressing earlier.

When I was 'watching' them inspect my area I went into 'Find an Ofsted Inspection Report' and put in my postcode and then how many miles radias I was interested in seeing and then watched the inspection dates change over the months as they ploughed their way through the area. There is probably a quicker way but this is how I done it.

My local authority is small, about 250 childminders, I think. On the Ofsted website, instead of looking at postcode, I look at local authority, and play with the dates.
It them takes a little while to trawl through them all to look at grades and inspectors.

My favourite way to look is on Watchsted. This gives you a colour coded spiral with all inspections going back to September 2012.

I originally found out about the site on here, but it's not widely known. I gave mentioned it to about 5 local childminders recently, and no one knew about it.

Last week Gill Jones also made a statement on what is happening from April 2017 when Ofsted takes EY inspections in-house and end its contracts with Tribal and Prospects and she mentions the CIF too.
There was also a short video by Wilshaw himself...worth looking into it.

Just as a side note- This map doesn't work for me. If I type in my Local Authority it doesn't cover half the villages and towns my LA covers, their data must be wrong somehow.
